Where can I park for drop off and pick up?
Parents driving their child/ren to school may park on Millwood Rd. to escort them to the playground or daycare. Please do not stop in the bus loading zone or the parking lot in front of the daycare. Parking lot is reserved for families in infant, toddler and preschool only.
Morning Drop-Off:
Drop-off for the Before School Program is between 7:30 AM and 8:40 AM. All children must be escorted directly to their classrooms, as they are not permitted to walk through the school unsupervised.
If your child is in Grade 5 and you would like them to begin walking to and from school on their own, please contact one of our supervisors. We will provide you with our Authority & Release Form, which must be completed before this arrangement can begin. At 8:40 AM, all children will transition outdoors. Families arriving after this time should meet daycare staff outside rather than entering through Door 7.
The DPS Principal, Mr. Finkelstein, has requested that no families enter the building after 8:40 AM. This precaution helps ensure that children are not left unsupervised in classrooms while searching for items or dropping off backpacks, as there is no designated supervisor available at that time.
Following this guideline is important to minimize any risk of a child being left unattended.
Afternoon Pick-Up:
Pick-up is available between 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM.
If your child needs to be picked up before the school day ends, this must be arranged through the school’s main office. Parents/guardians are also responsible for notifying the After School Program of any early pickups to help staff ensure the safety of each child. Best way of contact would be through the Lillio App as all supervisors have direct access and are able to notify our staff promptly.
The program closes promptly at 6:00 PM.
Late Pick-Up Policy
Late pick-ups will result in additional fees:
$5.00 for the first five minutes (6:01 PM - 6:05 PM)
$10.00 for each additional five-minute period thereafter
Fees are payable in cash directly to the staff member present at the time of pick-up. If a family is late 3 or more times within one month, the family will receive a warning letter from the Board of Directors, upon the 3rd warning letter, families may be asked to withdraw their child/ren from the Care Program.
Register with Lillio:
All important mass communication will be sent exclusively through our Lillio app. Please accept the invite and register to ensure you receive all essential updates. If you have existing login credentials from another Centre, you can use them to log in, and both Centres will open in separate tabs.
Safe Arrival Policy:
We prioritize the safety of all students. The Safe Arrival and Dismissal Policy and Procedures are now required by all licensed childcare facilities in Ontario commencing January 2024 as mandated by the Ministry of Education. Please notify us of any absences, early pick-ups, or other changes by no later than 2:30pm on regular school days by calling, emailing, or using the Lillio app. On PA Days / March Break / Summer we ask that you notify us by 9:30am. Since the child’s safety is the highest priority and the designated is not able to reach the parents or guardian to confirm the child’s absence, we would then be required to call the emergency contacts listed in the child's file.
Please ensure your emergency contact details are up-to-date.
Playground Policy:
Our classes will be going outdoors in five designated cohorts, with each group rotating daily. This structure is in place to help ensure the safety of every child while outdoors. Smaller groups allow teachers to better supervise their students, provide more meaningful engagement, and reduce the potential risk of injuries or children wandering into unsupervised areas.
Our playground is designed for safe and enjoyable play. As we are entering a new school year, we would like to remind everyone that the play structure is only for children Grade 1 - 6. Due to liabilities under Davisville Care Programme Inc. and our Before and After care children (Grades 1-6) having access to this structure at that time, we ask all families to please go after 6pm.
Play structure will be closed between 3-6pm for all Infant - Kindergarten children.
We kindly ask all families to please help follow these rules as we want to ensure the safety of the older children using the play structure.
Catering:
We offer a range of snacks throughout the month. If you prefer to send your child with their own snacks or meals, please ensure they are nut-free and labelled with your child’s name. On school days, our program provides only an afternoon snack. However, on non-instructional days, such as PA days, March break, and summer, we will provide both a morning and an afternoon snack.
PA Day & Pizza Lunch:
During PA days our centre will be open from 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM. PA Days will include educational workshops and teacher-led programs planned around the unique interests of each classroom to ensure meaningful and engaging experiences for the children.
Pizza Lunch will only be provided on PA Days and on the Friday of March Break.
Each child will receive 1–2 slices of pizza along with one juice box. (Options will be cheese, pepperoni, & vegan slices. All with regular dough)
Pizza Lunch is complementary and is not affiliated with the TDSB school pizza lunch program.
